Yesterday was the opening and I attended the premiere of the theatre performance 'The Father, the Son and the Holy Feast' by Sadettin Kirmiziyüz in Het Huis van Bourgondië.
The Father, the Son and the Holy Feast
Original Dutch title: De vader, de Zoon en het Heilige Feest
In November 2010 Sadettin Kirmiziyüz made the biggest journey of his life. Together with his father he went to Mecca for a pilgrimage, the Hajj, to continue a family tradition. With his father as a minister in this ancient ritual, he was ordained as an apprentice. Armed with the experience of this intrusive trip he makes a performance about fathers and sons, believing and not believing, Abraham, Isaac, Muhammad, God and Allah. A sacred road story where nothing cannot be done and everything is true. And that should be celebrated.
Production: C-mine Cultuurcentrum, De Queeste, Dommelhof, Het Huis van Bourgondië
Emke Idema 'Ins and outs of the hole in your head' is also included in the Festival.
