BRANKOPOPOVICBLOG: SuperBodies Triennale at Z33 Hasselt

After the report of the SuperBodies exhibition at Fashion Museum Hasselt here is the second report of another strong
exploration of the body with some impressive work such as the video by Boris Charmatz or the installation 'The Defenders' from William Forsythe. The exhibition shows many interactive work where the bodies of the audience are becoming part of the work such as the work from Marloeke van der Vlugt and Eric Joris and Crew. As you can see I could not resist to participate myself.
The third Hasselt Triennale ‘Superbodies’ is built around the theme of the artists’ and designers’ fascination with the way our body unconsciously shapes our experiences.
The exhibition focuses on the body in all its – often half-conscious – actions. Following the extensive interactive exhibition trail we are made to reflect upon our body as a source of all our thoughts and feelings.
Up and coming and internationally established artists and designers are flirting with the boundaries of disciplines in order to unravel the mysteries of the body.
The whole city can become a potential stage but the focal point will lie with exhibitions in the big cultural centres, all at walking distance from each other: Cultuurcentrum Hasselt, House for Contemporary Art Z33, MMH Fashion Museum Hasselt, CIAP and the Stadsmus.
