Preview High Fashion Low Countries during Amsterdam Fashion Week

Preview High Fashion Low Countries
Friday July 13th 2012 at Cultuurhuis de Brakke Grond in Amsterdam

The project High Fashion Low Countries is an initiative of the Dutch Embassy in Brussels and aims to strengthen existing partnerships between Belgium and the Netherlands on slow fashion and innovation. Three Dutch designers (Jantine Van Peski, Natalie de Koning, Pauline Van Dongen) and three designers from Belgium (Céline De Schepper, Katrien Van Hecke, Lena Lumelsky) were invited to work on a capsule collection that combines sustainability, craftmanship with alluring and innovative design.

The project will have a range of activities in 2012 in both countries: an exhibition (in collaboration with MAD Brussels during Modo Brussel 2012), an open call to students, networking meetings, the launch of a movie and a magazine (in collaboration with Glamcult) and a seminar in collaboration with Flanders Fashion Institute.

The first results will be displayed during the Amsterdam Fashion Week in partnership with the Flemish cultural centre de Brakke Grond. From July 13th until 15th the first 6 outfits from the designers will be on view together with the launch of the magazine and a preview of the film. Next to the HFLC preview, de Brakke grond presents the expo House of 100 Hands. On July 15th the event will end with The Green Fashion Bazaar, organized by Amsterdam Fashion Week and Doortje Vintage.
