Beside all the official shows at Mercedes Benz Berlin Fashion Week a new generation of designers and future stars is gearing up to enter the scene.
I was there at the graduation show 'SeeFASHION13' of the Berlin Weissensee School of Art at Kosmos in East Berlin. This school has already delivered successful designers in the past, such as Sasa Kovacevic (Sadak) and Michael Sontag who presented his SS 2014 collection at the main stage of the Berlin Fashion Week.
The show had a promising start with work of students who are in their beginning stage. They presented various projects. After that it was time for the Bachelor, Meisterschuller and Master of Arts collection. I did not quite understand the difference in this titles however in all sections there where nice collections. Best collection of the evening was the collection of Caroline Rohner and Inna Stein. They joined forces and created a rich collection with very interesting silhouettes, textiles and materials.
I also really enjoyed the menswear proposals like Frank Salewski, Stefan Webelhorst and the more wearable collection by Adrian Stapf & Michael Ross. Womenswear had some ups and downs but Stefanie Barz brought energy to the runway with one of the most theatrical collections. There was even something for the kids like Esther Zahn's Rainbow Warrior fun collection for the kids.
Here and there all collections contained some nice pieces therefore you can see quite some images in this post.
