Fashion designer and software developer join forces during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam
Amsterdam
Evolution collection of Jacob Kok was presented on the catwalk during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam. Thanks to a unique collaboration between the fashion designer and software developer Autodesk the collection is also available in 3D.
During Fashion Week fashion designer Jacob Kok, who is known for his virtual presentation of his designs, presented a colourful collection consisting of coats and bags for women accompanied by a video. Kok: ‘By presenting my designs not only physically but also digitally, new dimensions are created to strengthen the experience of fashion.’
The collaboration with Autodesk made it possible for Jacob Kok to present his entire collection via a digital platform. The app 123D Catch is able to generate a 3D model of the physical designs by the use of pictures. Kok: ‘123D Catch enables you to see more of my collection than the visitors of my show. It’s interactive; you can spin the model around and zoom to see every little detail.’
Hilde Sevens, director business development Autodesk: ‘The collaboration with Jacob Kok enables him to bridge the gap between the digital and analogue world in which we anticipate on the endless possibilities that technology has to offer to fashion.’
