19th PREMIUM YOUNG DESIGNERS AWARD

On the evening of July 7, 2014, three talented young designers were presented with the 19th PREMIUM YOUNG DESIGNERS AWARD.
As a kick-off to the Spring/Summer 2015 season of Berlin Fashion Week, the PREMIUM team crowned the three designers in the categories of womenswear, menswear, and accessories. As in the previous season, PREMIUM presented the award at the Wyndham Grand Berlin Potsdamer Platz. More than 300 buyers, industry insiders, members of the press, and fashion fans attended the exciting evening, hosted by Patrice Bouédibéla.

As part of their prize, the winners of the PREMIUM YOUNG DESIGNERS AWARD will be given a stand at next Fall/Winter 2015/16 season’s PREMIUM and be included in all of PREMIUM’s communications materials. In cooperation with the Galeries Lafayette, the young designers will also be given the exclusive opportunity to present their collections in the windows of the department store next season as part of the PREMIUM YOUNG TALENTS Showcase.

NEW! As part of a pop up space at Galeries Lafayette Berlin, a selection of the collection will be available for the customers of the venerable department store to shop the winning pieces, parallel to the PREMIUM YOUNG TALENTS Showcase.

CATEGORY WOMENSWEAR: Marina Hoermanseder

Marina Hoermanseder founded her self-named womenswear label in Berlin in 2014. The young French-Austrian designer stands for distinct individuality, uniting refined craftsmanship with effusive and elegant designs. Her collections combine progressive cuts with fetish elements, experimenting with strong contrasts and playing with the beauty of the unconventional.

CATEGORY MENSWEAR: Maxhosa by Laduma

Inspired by the Xhosa aesthetic and his love for knitwear, African designer Laduma has created a menswear collection of traditional patterns, classic lines and snuggly materials. “On my travels, I discovered the most amazing Xhosa beadwork, patterns and colors. They have been the best inspiration and source of material for my knitwear pieces.

Deji George is a London-based menswear brand established in 2012 by founder Tolani Tubi.
