Mirte van Wijngaarden presented her Spring/Summer 2015 collection 'VICTORIUS' during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam.
Mirte graduated from WDKA Willem de Kooning Academy in 2013 and did her internship at Cedric Jacquemyn. Her work is characterized by the use of the existing male – elements in the current fashion, but translated into a new, innovative way. In addition to that she uses different textures and materials.
The collection that she presented is based on the transformation from a boy to a man that men experience and all the emotional obstacles they have to face in this process. Her collection contains contrasting use of materials featuring coated fabrics and variety of natural materials like leather, cotton, jute and linen. In addition she also used materials she designed her self. The diversity of used materials and roughness in the cuts and layering gave the collection a very rich feel. Mirte van Wijngaarden's collection is the menswear surprise of this edition of Amsterdam Fashion Week.
