Missy Elliott and Marilyn Manson Star in New Marc Jacobs Film
Marc Jacobs always gets big names for his ads, frequently getting not only models but big names in music industry, too. Previously he's recruited the likes of Sky Ferreira, and for his latest he's got Missy Elliott and Marilyn Manson among others. The newly released short features an eclectic mix of individuals modeling Jacob's new AW16 collection, which sports a rather gothic look which both Mansion and Elliott absolutely nail.
Courtney Love, Cara Delevingne, Genesis P-Orridge, Kendall Jenner, and St. Vincent also star in the clip, with Courtney's look suiting her particularly well. The newly released film comes ahead of Marc Jacobs' SS17 show at New York Fashion Week on September 15.
The video, by legendary music video director Hype Williams, premiered on Billboard—to coincide with the magazine's new Style Issue, featuring Jacobs and St. Vincent, who also appears in the ad along with her model girlfriend, Cara Delevingne.
The video campaign showcases Jacobs' muses-of-the-season posing in the fall collection, which St. Vincent (whose real name is Annie Clark) described as "pretty fantastic—thematic and theatrical." The models are equally entertaining: there's a witchy-looking Kendall Jenner, a seductive Susan Sarandon and even the designer himself smoking a cigarette against a motorcycle, dressed in his own designs (platform boots included) and exhibiting the utmost badass-ery.
