Francisco van Benthum FW 2014/15

Francisco van Benthum pays tribute to Russian Activists at Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam
CON-STRUCT/FW14-15 collection is inspired by constructivism, an art movement  from the period 1919-1934 that originated in Russia. Several looks reflect on the current protest attitudes against and in Russia. Leather sweaters, assembled T-shirts, bomber jackets and parkas in japanese nylon are daubed with politically engaged graffiti through IKWILGRAFFITI: Putin with Mickey Mouse ears and rebellious cries decorate the clothes.

A series of 3 T-shirts are designed for a good cause: The revenues are going to (‘Stop de repressie in Rusland. Kies voor vrijheid’) "Stop the repression in Russia.Choose for Freedom', campaign by Amnesty International.
A derived version of the T-shirts will be available in the Francisco van Benthum webstore coming April.

FRANCISCO VAN BENTHUM - MARLIN S/S 2014

FRANCISCO VAN BENTHUM -
MARLIN S/S 2014

Francisco van Benthum is back again on the runway in Amsterdam and in great style. This was the best show and the best collection at Amsterdam Fashion week. Everything looked right, from clothing, the attitude of the models and the two female models who gave it a stunning subtle touch.
Scuba diving and deep sea world inspired Francisco Benthum for the 2014 spring summer collection 'MARLIN'. On one hand he refers to the technical aspect of scuba diving: the wetsuit with its low-and high-tech detailing and futuristic-looking high-tech materials. On the other hand the prints and shapes are inspired by the underwater world.
Ever since 2003 Francisco van Benthum is the driving force behind his luxury menswear label. He started his carreer in the 90's when he graduated at ArtEZ. academy. In 2012 he was granted with Cultuurfonds Mode Stipendium of het Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds.
The label is available international and in his own conceptstore in Amsterdam.
