Design-Boulevard during INSPIRE CITY 2012 in Heerlen

Strikks
During INSPIRE CITY 2012, DDDE (Dutch Design Desk Europe) will present twenty designers from the Euregio Meuse-Rhine (Maastricht, Aachen, Hasselt, Heerlen and Liège) at the Heerlen Woonboulevard. The designers were selected in cooperation with FASHIONCLASH, Designmetropole Aachen, Zachte G and MOS store.

INSPIRE CITY 2012 takes place from 12th till 21th October. With over 4 million visitors annually, of which approximately 35% from Germany and Belgium, Woonboulevard Heerlen makes the theme “Design für Alle” accessible for a wide audience in the Euregion. The theme stands for “quality in everyday things for everyone.”
In cooperation with the Foundation Dutch Design Desk Europe, the first designer promenade in the Netherlands will be presented at the opening night on Friday, October 12. INSPIRE CITY wants Woonboulevard Heerlen to strengthen and develop into an attractive shopping and leisure facility. For visitors an inspiring event and for creative and skilled craftsmen an excellent place to expose themselves to a wide audience.

Kaspar Hamacher - Ausgebrannt

Nice film by Daniel van Hauten about Kaspar Hamacher.
Belgium designer Kaspar Hamacher creates furniture that range from chairs to shelves. Using nature as a source of inspiration he aims to design simple pieces that are not artificially produced. Included in his current collection are 'the stool', 'the leather belt' and 'the board'. The difference between the purely natural and the technologically produced can be clearly felt. There are things that cannot be copied such as the warmth of wood, the smell and touch of leather, the individuality that cannot be imitated. www.kasparhamacher.be

Studio 33 in Maastricht

While the eyes are all on Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven my friends from Studio 33 opened doors in the weekend of 22 and 23 October.
Studio 33 presented a group of independently working artists and designers who shared a profound interest in each others work and artistic process for some years now. All of them graduated from ABKM (Academy of Fine Arts Maastricht) and they are based in Maastricht.

Keep up the good work!
