A NEW SPACE AROUND THE BODY featuring the works of 8 Korean fashion designers received the British Council and British Fashion Council’s the International Fashion Showcase Emerging Talent Awards 2012 for the best project. I have not seen all the projects but Korean project made the most impression on me.

Korea’s exhibition shows a selection of fantastic, strong and optimistic work from emerging Korean designers.
The Korean Cultural Centre UK presented an inspiring exhibition that explores a new generation of South Korean designers, whose works are characterised by humour, imaginary worlds and highly sculptural creations, which at their most extreme almost become frameworks for the body.
Co-curated by Ji Hye Hong and Sofia Hedman, the featured work combines explosions of colour, modern techniques, craft, and unexpected fabric combinations. Exhibiting are Ara Jo, Juhee Han, Katleen Kye, Minky Jaemin Ha, Minju Kim, Unbounded A WE by Laykuni, Yoolhee Ko and Yeashin Kim – all of whom are graduates from some of the most prestigious schools in both the UK and mainland Europe.
