Atelier Milada by Ann Boogaerts in collaboration with Kris Micallef
Atelier Milada by Ann Boogaerts is debuting at Amsterdam Fashion Week on January 24th 2012. She is showing her fall 2013 collection 'Brouillard Blue'.
In September 2012 she showed at Runway Malta on behalf of F.A.B (Fashion Across Borders) and there she worked with Kris Micallef. Together they created this beautiful shoot in the streets of Valletta.
The collection is inspired by a lady in her late 60's. Lady with a fantastic character that could easily come out of a Tolstoy novel. The lady travelled all around the world by herself, and during the journeys, she collected small souvenirs from the places she visited and the interesting people she met in Russia, France and Japan.
The souvenirs meant so much to her that she integrated them in her clothing. That is what we see in this collection and the backdrop of Valletta seems as a perfect place for this shoot.
Ann Boogaerts graduated from Artez Academy in 2009 and with her graduation collection she has won the prestigious G-Star Raw Award 'Lichting 2009'.
Stay tuned for her new collection this week, but for now enjoy this stunning story.

Tesj - bags and accessories label
Carmen Gloudemans started her bag label Tesj in 2004, after obtaining the diploma at Artez, Fashion Design at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Arnhem. All products are designed and produced in the Netherlands. The bags and accessories of Tesj are sold in several shops in the Netherlands, Germany and online via www.tesj.nl.
'Tesj' means bag in Limburg dialact, and this reflects on Carmen's youth as she is from Limburg (province south of The Netherlands).
The latest Tesj collection consists of a number of leather bags, the accessory Tuutje and a silk scarf with print. The contemporary designs are functional but above all pure and feminine.
Tesj is constantly looking for new forms for bags, for example the Tuutje is inspired by a milk jug.
Tesj label is taking part at Fier Showroom AW13/14 during Berlin Fashion Week.

iPhone case by Handsome Wardrobe label

iPhone covers come in many colors and designs but they are not always fashionable.
Handsome Wardrobe introduces 'Enfold': an innovative, sustainable and fashionable iPhone case.
The case, made of high quality calfskin and cowhide, is available in six color variations. Of each color - pink, gold, and gray - is a version with painted and unpainted edges available.
Enfold combines art with functionality
Due the material and the folded design, the case fits perfect and lies comfortably in the hand. When loading the battery you only have to open the flap and when the battery is full, you can close the case again with a subtle push button.
Nice fact to mention is that the gray model is made of ecologically tanned leather.
Where can you get one?
The cases of Handsome Wardrobe are made for the iPhone 4 and 4S and soon they will also protect the iPhone 5. Enfold is available at the site of the designer behind Handsome Wardrobe (Annemarie te Stroet). Check: www.annemarietestroet.nl.
In addition, they are sold at Arnhem Coming Soon and at www.ziemijndesign.nl.
Price: from EUR 65.

Beyond the Body by Imme van der Haak
My work focuses on altering the human form by affecting its figure with just one simple intervention. Photos of the human body are printed onto translucent silk which will create the possibility of physically layering different body’s, ages, generations and identities.
In a dance performance, the moving body manipulates the fabric so the body and the silk become one, distorting our perception or revealing a completely new physical form. The movement then brings this to life.
Beyond the body brings into being an ambiguous image that intrigues, astonishes or sometimes even disturbs.
Imme van der Haak is born in Arnhem, the Netherlands. She graduated in 2010 from Artez, the academy of arts. (check Artez 2010 graduation report). Following this, she moved to London for a master in Product Design at London’s Royal College of Art where she graduated in 2012.
