POP! Fashion
Following on the great success of the Jazz and Fashion Show hosted by U.S. Embassy Skopje during Fashion Weekend Skopje 2012, Fashion Weekend Skopje was proud to resume cooperation with the U.S. Embassy on a Fashion Show to open Fashion Weekend Skopje 2013 - POP! Fashion!

In February, the open call was announced for new and established fashion, jewelry, and accessory designers, as well as students of fashion design, to come up with fresh ideas inspired by the rich American POP! Culture. The theme was broad and very POPular and allowed the applicants to fully express their creativity.
A jury composed of representatives from the U.S. Embassy, Fashion Weekend Skopje, and the Textile Trade Association – Textile Cluster of Macedonia selected a mix of 13 teams of designers, out of nearly 40 applications. The finalists had the opportunity to showcase their creations at a gala evening hosted by the U.S. Embassy on April 3.
Besides the fashion show, this year’s project also included an educational and training element, as the 13 selected teams attended workshops on Brand Management, led by Professor Bjorn Bengtsson from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
The project was supported by the members of the Textile Trade Association – Textile Cluster of Macedonia: “AFG,” “Albatros,” “Alka,” “Amorteks”, “INT,” “Ist Komerc SANDA,” “Kuli,” “Linea,” “MK Milano,” “MGI,” “Saitis,” “Teteks”, and “VFG.”
