Sylvio Giardina Spring/Summer 2013

The idea of cutting and combining the specific details from the sportswear or netball with female shaped dresses, creating unusual combinations as the lace bomber having knit or silk and knit borders is the theme that features in the SS2013 collection.
The casual-chic mood joins to the glamour of sinuous demi-couture constructions. The different textures of pique give rise to fluid textures and creates a soft and clean shaped silhouette without leaving out volumes and shapes that are the leitmotiv of collections by Sylvio Giardina.

The striped borders of knitwear and mini-dresses uncovering all of the leg, continuously refer to sportswear along with silk, jersey, fabrics as lace and crêpe de chine, give innovative combinations where the day elements joins to the evening ones.

Fabrics: pique, cotton gabardine, jersey, crêpe de chine, lace (dentelle), knit, silk georgette.

The heads were custom designed for each outfit to capture the essence of the ensemble and make it come alive. Martine Rose spring summer 2013

It's been a while since London ss2013 fashion week but this collection is too pretty not to share.

“The collection is based on Bernini’s sculptures, in particular The Rape of Persephone. The collection is derived from abstract form, the appearance of fabrics that defy their nature – like sculpture.”

This collection breathes retro. Oversized and stonewashed jeans outfits are mixed with sportswear pieces. The smart combination of fabrics (neoprine with jeans) and the embroidery details makes it very fresh at the same time.
And of course the styling that makes the models look like marching sculptures; stunning!

Here is a nice label from Barcelona that I just discovered. BRIAN & BEAST is a fashion label based in Barcelona. Ángel Vilda is the designer behind it. This is the latest ss 2013 collection presneted at o8o Barcelona Fashion event.
