Brian Geradts `You see the overall of what we are`

I have already reported about Brian's graduation collection but I can't resist to share his stunning lookbook shoot. He teamed up again with Valentina Vos and this is the result: ♥'s

`you see the overall of what we are` is inspired by volcano eruptions.

The dark, dramatic, oppressive, threatening and energetic atmosphere that surrounds a volcano eruption is a strong foundation of the collection and is reflected as high-necked collars, high-waisted pants and constricted coats.

Sharp lines and shapes combined with unique, destinguishable digital printed patterns and a accurate workmanship form a strong collection.

The volcano eruption is literally adopted in form of a digital print. Dividing seams and layers symbolize the flowing lava. Dim, shiny, sleek, structural and hairy materials such as wool, silk, alpaca, velvet and velour emphasizes the atmosphere as well as the colors. Black and dark green shades evoke oppressive and threatening feelings, white and orange portray the fume and lava and are complemented with a soft green.

Discreet volumes create cool attitudes while fine lines define an elegant silhouette for a young, modern and daring man.

They changed their name from PS Magazine to PRESTAGE Magazine. The new edition is really nice. Beautiful editorials and articles. Good to see designers like Femke Agema included and photographers Valentina Vos and Peter Godijn.

'One Seventy Four' by Valentina Vos

Meet Valentina Vos, a young and passionate fashion photographer, just graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts Maastricht.

Valentina Vos

For her graduation project she photographed 25 young models. She photographed these girls in their most natural and vulnerable state, not as models but as beautiful young women.

" During these photoshoots I concentrated on portraying the characters of the girls instead of their appearances. Nowadays more and more young girls are being portrayed as women and I wanted to break with this. I’m showing you the girls, not the models.” – Valentina Vos

The whole project is now published in the book entiteld, One Seventy Four, and is now available for purchase. You can order it through valentinavos@live.nl.

Take a fruther look at her work: http://www.valentinavos.com/
