This evening, January 23, Mattijs van Bergen had the honor to open Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam with his new FW 2014 collection 'COMPLEMENTAIR'. The collection was inspired by the painting techniques and colors of Van Gogh and was developed in collaboration with the Van Gogh Museum.The show was opened by designer's muse, actress Jolanda van den Berg,who performed a moving performance of Don Mclean's classic song 'Starry, Starry Night'. The colorful collection was presented in an equally romantic and melancholic setting: a raw birch-graphic projection of designer Niek Pulles supplemented with autumn leaves that fluttered on the catwalk and the audience.
