Designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon are known for their creative and innovative presentations.
For their spring summer 2017 collection show they chose the Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine, Paris's architecture museum that houses casts of French architecture and monumental sculptures both new and old. They added a human element to the set, which resulted in the addition of real-life statues posing among—and sometimes even incorporated into—the works of art and architecture.

Chalayan spring/summer 2017

Hussein Chalayan Teams Up With Intel for S/S 2017 collection

Designer Hussein Chalayan partnered with Intel to bring wearable technology to his spring/summer 2017 fashion week show. Five models walked the runway alongside visual projections that showed their stress levels on the walls. All of it was made possible by vital information sent through the wearable tech they sported on the runway.

“Only with technology can you create new things in fashion. Everything else has been done,” he has previously said.

Intel has previously partnered with Opening Ceremony and Oakley. Chalayan is no stranger to experimenting with how his clothing can engage with technology. In the past, he's created looks that changed shape with the use microchips and animatronics, made dresses embedded with LEDs, and once created a coffee table that turned into a skirt.

According to Intel, the goal of the project, was to "illustrate the potential of future integrations of fashion and technology by bringing innovative concepts and aspirations to life."

Issey Miyake x United Nude

Issey Miyake and United Nude have joined forces to create a collection of shoes.
Presented during Paris Fashion Week spring/summer 2017, the project elaborates on Issey Miyake’s concept of ‘ten sen men’ (point, line and surface), and continues United Nude’s approach to shoe design as architecture, using cutting-edge materials and techniques.
Both ‘rock’ and ‘wrap’ shoes put the wearer at the forefront of the design process, creating footwear that is practical and playful. The ‘rock’ shoes are based on the concept of ‘structure’ and are characterized by their dynamic, geometric heels that seem to be hewn from stone. Fusing functionality — based on structural dynamics — and a colorful playfulness, the collection is available in six hues — white, black, pink, beige, yellow and green.

The ‘wrap’ shoes have been designed to envelop the foot in a single sheet of leather. the model has an elastic band that improves the fit, making it a simple and easy style to wear. ‘wrap’ is available in three colors — white, black, and silver — and in both flats and low heels.
