Arnhem-based fashion team TRINHBECX, existing of two talent designers Tung Trinh and Tim Becx, presented their latest collection on the main stage at Amsterdam Fashion Week. The striking scenography and presentation was created in cooperation with COLLECTOR. and Studio met met.

The design duo took their inspiration for this spring/summer 2018 collection from the Beast-and-Flower Pictures photo series by Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki, who is famed for his photos of women and flowers, as well as for exploring themes like life, death, and sex. This specific series revolves around the positive feeling that comes from nostalgia. The designers were fascinated by Araki's work, especially his subject matter and use of colour. They transformed the organic, sensual floral shapes into cocoon-like designs that were put together using simple button techniques, creating surprising volumes and sensual, peek-a-boo cutouts.
