SHAPE - body, fashion, identity
exhibition at Textiel Museum in Tilburg is on show from 16 November 2024 till 30 March 2025
In this fashion exhibition, you can discover surreal, futuristic and imaginative creations inspired by the human body, and question ideals of beauty. Through these designs, explore the malleability of the body and the creation of identity through textiles and fashion.
For this exhibition, leading Danish designer Henrik Vibskov, Dutch fashion designer Marlou Breuls and Belgian digital designer Elmo Mistiaen developed fascinating installations. We invited them to the TextielLab as part of the Reasearch & Development (R&D) knitting programme. From 'SHAPE', you'll naturally enter this impressive workshop and where you'll get a sneak peek.
The setting of 'SHAPE' was designed by Studio Harm Rensink, who worked closely with digital designer Elmo Mistiaen for this. The textile landscape they created together, inspired by the human body, is surreal, futuristic and seductive. You wander through a story. By enhancing Studio Harm Rensink's 3D elements with Mistiaen's AI-generated images, the standalone works come together into a cohesive whole. This campaign image already gives a small insight into the world of 'SHAPE'.
