Winde Rienstra - Stjerren oan it firmamint

Winde Rienstra presented her new collection 'Stjerren oan it firmamint' at the 20th edition of Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam.

For this collection she collaborated with Vita Coco Coconut Water and Textile Museum Tilburg.

With this collection she went back to her Fryslân origin.
Rienstra's biggest inspiration was the Eise Eisinga planetarium in Franeker - the oldest working planetarium in the world - and Eise Eisinga itself.  Being a wool-comber next to a self taught mathematician and astronomer, his dedication to establish this planetarium and his considerable attention for detail and use of materials bear to Winde a recognition and an inspiration source par excellence.

Furthermore she was given the opportunity by the Tilburg Textile Museum to develop three designs on their unique machinery.

The show featured beautiful live music, singer Nynke Laverman performed several Frisian songs live at the show.

Beside the striking collection whe presented a unique pair of shoes that she had created especially for this show. The shoes are made of coconut wood, inspired by Vita Coco Coconut Water, the brand that made her show possible.
